6-WEEK COURSE DATES:

Beta (upright) style and song #1
Sunday, August 10 & August 17, 11 AM - 1 PM
Beta (upright) style and song #2
Sunday, August 31 & September 7, 11 AM - 1 PM
Naname (slant) style and song #3
Complete 6 week course fee: $150
Priority for enrollment will be given to those able to do all 6 weeks of the course.
Participants interested in attending fewer sessions will pay a $30/date fee (available start dates: 7/20, 8/10, 8/31 - based on availability.)
Participants will learn about the history of taiko, basic posture and hitting techniques for beta (upright) & naname (slant) style, simple rhythms, and excerpts from multiple songs. Through three songs, we will gradually introduce kakegoe and increasingly complex movements, progressing from the first to the third.
Class will be held at our practice location in Waukesha. Exact details will be sent upon confirmation of enrollment.
Due to the number of drums available, we can only accept a maximum of 5 participants.
Please wear athletic clothes (no jeans) and shoes you can move around in (or go barefoot).
